Reviews of Agorapulse and Portent

    In this day and age, it's important to keep track of your social media accounts, as well as what/when you'll be posting on them. Today, I will share with you one social media content calendar and one social media content generator. Without further ado, let's dive right into it!

Agorapulse

Overview

Agorapulse is a social media calendar which allows you to schedule posts in advance, keep track of comments on said posts, and more. You can add up to twenty social media accounts during your free trial, ranging from Facebook to Twitter to YouTube. As I have no business accounts, I only added my YouTube account, Ryan TheFilmMaker. 

Agorapulse offers a good array of features. You can:

• Create posts directly on the website, which you can schedule to be posted to your account
• Keep track of many different social media accounts
• View analytics for certain types of accounts
• Keep track of comments on your posts and direct messages on your accounts

Pros

Let's get into the pros. Agorapulse is free to start out with, and it allows you to connect twenty different accounts to start off with. It allows you to review comments and DMs, something that I haven't seen in other calendars. You can use the site to post to your accounts, which is helpful and keeps things simple. Last but not least, of course you can schedule posts to be posted in the future, allowing you to keep track of everything and stay ten steps ahead of your competitors. I should hope the calendar feature would be a pro, since it's Agorapulse's main feature.

Cons

There are a few key cons for Agorapulse. The biggest con is that it is not a free service. There is a 15 day free trial (which you do not need to input your credit card info for - a very honorable choice for the company, and one which I respect them for). Another con is that you can only link business accounts, at least for Instagram. That could be a problem for those who want to plan out personal accounts. It's especially a problem for me, because my secondary Instagram account (@ryas_moc_corner) is something I would actually want to use this for.

Portent Content Idea Generator

Overview

Portent is a website which is made for digital marketing. It has a number of features, ranging from a click worth calculator to marketing diagnostics. For the purposes of this review, however, I will only be focusing on their Content Idea Generator. Everyone's had those days where you just can't think of anything to write about, and Portent is here to help you when you're at a loss of things to post. All you need to do is enter a key word (or phrase) and it will generate a blog title for you.

Pros

First things first, the Content Generator is hilarious. While playing around with it, I got some gems such as "Why Hollow Knight is harder than acing the SATs", "Why clowns are scarier than clowns", and "Why mobsters are the 51st shade of gray". Among the funny ones, though, are ones that would be genuinely interesting to read, like "7 facts about marine biology that everyone gets wrong" or "18 podcasts about the SCP Foundation". And on top of all that, it's also completely free and easy to use.

Cons

There really aren't any. This is an incredibly useful tool. If there was one bad thing to say about it, it's that it's AI generated content, so sometimes you won't get the best material right off the bat. That really isn't an issue, though, when you can just click "See another title" a few times and eventually find something of use. Congratulations Portent Content Idea Generator, you have no flaws.

In Conclusion

It may seem a bit odd, combining two reviews into one post, but they do go hand in hand. Using a content generator, you can make lots of content quickly which you can then schedule to be posted at later times. Thus, you make things much easier on yourself.
